Poem: Sping Day at the Mall

Here in Washington D.C.
On a spring day at the Mall
As far as the eye can see
Cherry Blossoms on trees, one and all

People's representatives on Capitol Hill
The Dome, an umbrella for us all
Through the spine spreads a thrill
At Democracy's clarion call

From its steps you can see
The Obelisk standing firm and tall
A proud monument of the country
Steadfast strength through rise and fall

At the far end; symbolizing Will
That kept us united through our deepest pall
Pay homage we will
As Lincoln silently surveys us on the Mall.
